Oakville Makes AYP, Raises ACT, Increase AP Enrollment

Oakville High School made AYP for the second year in a row in all five subgroups. These tests are in Comm Arts (English II) and Math (Algebra I). Oakville also scored way above the state average in Science (Biology) and Social Studies (American Government). Congratulations to the students and staff who made this happen. Oakville was one of only five large high schools (5 or more subgroups) who made AYP last year in St. Louis County. One hundred eighty six students took 267 AP tests last spring at OHS. There were 16 different tests represented and 68% of the tests received a 3, 4 or 5 on the exam. Congrats to those students and staff. The average ACT score rose again this year to 22.8. That is two tenths of a point higher than last year. The composite score and three of the four subgroups had their highest score in the last five years. I am looking forward to an exciting 2010/2011 school year!

Parent Club 2010

 JOIN OHS PARENTS’ CLUB!

That’s right! The $10 membership dues go directly into our account to be used to help support our OHS students!
OHS Parents’ Club purchases items that school budgets can’t cover---“Wish List” items that classroom teachers and organization sponsors submit to us. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover all reasonable requests.
OHS Parents’ Club also awards scholarships to five graduating seniors each year!
Our funding comes DIRECTLY from membership dues and concession stand sales at the various school activities.
Another great benefit of joining OHS Parents’ Club is the opportunity to hear what’s going on at OHS each month! Mr. Bill Scheffler, our principal, attends each meeting to fill us in on upcoming events and even take questions. This year, we are having speakers on various topics at each meeting.
